I see other reviewers stating the man at the counter for check-in was cold/rude/unwelcoming. Too bad I did not see them prior to scheduling an 8am appointment for A/C inspection. When I arrived at my appointment time, the man at the counter gave off the vibe of absolute annoyance that I was standing in front of him. He coldly told me that although I had an appointment, they were backed up from the day prior and it would be at least an hour, probably more, before they could get to my car. He offered no apology for the inconvenience, but why would he when I was clearly inconveniencing him? I told him I would be waiting for the car. Again, he seemed overly annoyed that I was choosing to wait. I felt so unwelcome and uncomfortable, so I made a call to have someone pick me up. When I left, there were 3 employees standing at the entrance to their shop just talking to each other. Not a care in the world about missing my appointment time. They called several hours later to inform me that my compressor had an internal failure and they would need to replace it along with my condenser. A $3,000 quote. Do not trust this shop. My wife had an extremely disappointing experience here from start to finish. First, they did not honor her scheduled appointment time, stating they were still backed up from the previous day. As a result, she was late for work. Unfortunately, the customer service only got worse from there. She described the staff as rude, cold, and unwelcoming. Rather than making her feel like a valued customer, they made her feel as though she was an inconvenience. After approximately 30 minutes of inspecting the vehicle, they diagnosed it as needing both an A/C compressor and condenser replacement and quoted nearly $3,000 for the repair. That diagnosis immediately raised concerns for us, so we declined the work. Instead, we hired an independent ASE Certified Master Technician to inspect the vehicle. He spent nearly three hours thoroughly evaluating the entire A/C system. His diagnosis was very different: the condenser was not faulty. He determined the problem was the compressor clutch and quoted approximately $1,200 to make the repair. Came in without an appointment, was greeted by Justin who was attentive and friendly. Within 15 minutes Justin explained the problem and gave me a detailed breakdown on how they could repair my Jeep as well as the cost. I enjoyed a clean, quiet environment and updated on the progress throughout. Fantastic service !

This Pep Boys location is pretty awesome compared to other shops. The lobby, waiting room, and restrooms are immaculate and well-aired out!! I wasn’t expecting such a peaceful atmosphere and was pleasantly surprised with the service. TJ has a really good demeanor and speaks as well as he listens. I recommend this location if you are having vehicle trouble in the Cumming area. It also helps that 2 master mechanics are on duty.
